Charles Barkley: Isaiah Thomas crying ‘makes me uncomfortable’

Charles Barkley seems to be missing a sensitivity chip.

Before the Celtics took on the Bulls in Game 1 of their first-round playoff series Sunday, the Inside the NBA analyst discussed how he felt uncomfortable about Boston star Isaiah Thomas crying during warmups.

Thomas’ 22-year-old sister, Chyna, died in a car wreck in Washington State Saturday morning, so it’s only natural he’s playing with a heavy heart. It’s impressive he’s able to play at all. But Barkley said Thomas shouldn’t be in the lineup if he can’t keep emotions in check.

The score was 55-46, Warriors, at the half, by the way. The Warriors then went out and held the Blazers to six points over the first 7 1/2 minutes of the third period. (UPDATE: The Warriors held the Blazers to 35 points for the entire second half and cruised to a 110-81 victory. Golden State now leads the first-round series 2-0.)

A quick scan of the not-fancy regular-season stats shows how far off Barkley was. True, Golden State was 11th-best in the NBA with 104.3 points allowed per game, but it was first in field goal defense (43.5 percent), steals (9.6 per game), blocked shots (6.7 per game) and turnovers forced (15.5). It also was third in defensive rebounds per game (35.0).

The nerdy stats explain it, too: The defending West champs were second in the league in defensive rating (104.57 points per 100 possessions), just behind the Spurs.

See, Chuck, the Dubs play fast, and they shoot early and often, which leads Cheap Jordan Jerseys China to lots of possessions on both ends. So while the points per game look iffy, the rest Cheap Kids Football Jerseys of the fundamentals are strong.

I’ve asked this before, and I’ll ask it again: Does Chuck even watch basketball?
