Celtics’ Isaiah Thomas upset at refs after finishing with 0 free throws

Standing at under 6 feet tall, Isaiah Thomas finds it difficult to navigate his way through the trees on his way to the basket. When he does decide to go that route, he’s often fouled, as he shot 649 free throws in the regular season (fifth-highest total in the league).

The free-throw line is where Thomas shines, as he shot 90 percent from there, second-best among eligible players. But in Game 5 of the Celtics’ playoff series against the Wizards, Thomas didn’t go to the line once, and the point guard was not happy about it after the game.

“But it’s just, I don’t like it when they make stuff up. … If I didn’t do a good job or I didn’t do something [correctly], then I understand that. That’s your job. You got to write it. But when you make stuff up, that’s the part that I don’t get that kind of makes me mad.”

The media criticism reached a boiling point when Lue made the choice to bench starters LeBron James, Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love so they could get some rest. The media, fellow coaches and players from around the league weighed in, with many opinions bashing Lue’s choice.

[Michael] Jordan would never sit!’ And then you play him 42 minutes: ‘He’s playing too much!'” Lue said. “Like, what? So if you don’t play, you mad. If you play too much, you mad. … And I’ve come to the realization that it is what it is. That’s why I just try to tune Cheap Queensland Reds Jerseys the outside noise out.”
